By location
424 British podcasts that publish their own contact, sit outside the national chart, are independently run and have released an episode in the last year. Drawn from 1,369 shows we can positively evidence as UK.
Most podcast directories will tell you a show is British because Apple's UK
storefront lists it. So is TechCrunch. We only call a show UK when something says so:
a .uk contact address or website, a feed declaring en-gb, or the show
naming Britain in its own title.
That gives a smaller number than anyone else quotes, and it is the only one we can defend. The remaining shows are not hidden, they are labelled honestly: we can rule out 5,029 shows that declare a non-UK locale, but for most of the directory the feed says only "en" and we genuinely do not know.
Less than people assume. A Manchester firm can appear on an American show and get the same link, the same authority and the same conversation, which is why our directory does not filter by country by default. Where it does matter is recording: a show that only records in person needs a guest who can reach the studio.
We are asking hosts directly whether they record remotely or in person, and where they are based, because no podcast feed carries that information: of 20,965 shows, fewer than twenty mention it at all.
Ranked by reach: a percentile among the shows you could realistically get booked on, not a download count.
Every show above publishes a contact and we hold it. Addresses and drafted pitches are part of a plan. Browsing the directory, the reach data and which shows are bookable stays free. We never send on your behalf and never invent an address.
